Everything including the kitchen sink

Stewart, daughter Amity and son Ben drove from Brisbane to Lismore to deliver their gift.

Stewart from Brisbane is a Good Samaritan. Literally. As a member of the Samaritan’s Purse volunteer team, he recently spent four weeks in the Northern Rivers donating his time and efforts to help our community.

Having just bought a new house and remodeling the kitchen, he saw the need here and generously decided to donate his old kitchen to us.

He and his son Ben and daughter Amity drove a truckload of kitchen benches, cabinets, drawers, and the kitchen sink down to Lismore, as well as some bedroom furniture, bookshelves and an entertainment unit - some of which was donated by fellow Samaritans Wayne and Denise.

“I was working here with Samaritan’s Purse last month and so I knew the need is here,” he said.

“I recognised the components of our old kitchen could be used to provide someone here with a basic kitchen at no cost.”

Stewart, Ben and Amity even helped us unload the truck in our new storage facility in Goonellabah, where it will hopefully only spend a short time before finding the right new home.

Thanks, Stewart!
